Can I untick a whole day or month at once instead of post by post?

There's no select-all or deselect-all button, so in Edit content you untick posts one at a time: click the green tick on each post you don't want, then press Validate.

Bulk removal happens one level up. Choose Content takes out whole categories and whole albums at once, so untick Statuses and Wall messages if you only want photographs, or untick the picture categories if you only want your written posts. Narrowing the date range drops everything outside it. Do the broad cuts there first and you'll have far less to click through afterwards.

One thing that catches people out: Edit content lists everything the selected categories produced, so loose photographs sit alongside full posts. If there's more to go through than you expected, a picture category is still ticked in Choose Content.
